These crosses were created to serve as altar crosses for Peninsula UCC, a home church community on the Olympic Peninsula, affiliated with Suquamish UCC.
The pieces, made of clay, were fired in a raku kiln at 1,775 degrees.
They were created at the Grunewald Guild, an ecumenical Christian retreat center near Leavenworth, WA, dedicated to exploring the mystery and connections between art and spirituality.
